Writings:

What is Real?
by Gwilda Wiyaka

We tend to view reality as a continuous thread, a linear-thing held straight and level by time, when indeed it is more like a ball of twine that we can navigate at will. Because we are mostly unaware of the Path Home of reality, we don't know how to navigate it, nor are we aware that we are actually doing so at any given time.

Spontaneously and mostly unconsciously, we bounce around in time, space, dimensions, and realities wondering why we are having difficulty communicating with those around us, and are often misunderstood.  Rarely are we present in the now, even though we assume we are, and that those around us are also.

Show me a room of twenty people, and I will show you twenty different times, places, frequencies, dimensions and realities, all operating in tandem and shifting at will.

The best communicators are those who can navigate into other people's realities and commune there. These sensitive and compassionate people can often get lost in the worlds of those around them and lose their identity and knowledge of their own personal needs in the process.

Others are so invested in being right that they never take off the blinders long enough to see that other realities may exist.  They will polarize against anyone's concept that may not agree with their interpretations, and spend a great deal of personal energy being sure that everyone around them is in agreement with what they consider to be real.  In the extreme, these frightened, rigid people become zealots or members of a cult.  This is because the more people agree on a certain reality the stronger that reality is (or the more of the thread on the ball is tied up in one reality).

Some people are easily triggered into past damage. Something or someone in the present will remind them of a past trauma and they fly back to the past and react in the present from there.  They may seem like mostly grounded, logical people who suddenly, for no apparent reason, have bouts of illogic, go off on emotional tangents, and totally misunderstand the motives of those around them.

Any one of us may dance some or all of these places depending on what is going on for us at any given moment.

The question is how to remain grounded in the present, process our past damage, and visit the realities of those around us in order to communicate without getting lost. The answer lies in shamanism.

The more whole we become through shamanic healing, the less triggers we have and the less rigid we need to be.  The more we are aligned with who we are, the more we can dance the threads of the ball and find our way back to home base.  We can be more conscious of where we are in the vast richness of reality and navigate ourselves at will.  This enables us to allow each person in our lives their own reality without either judging against it or getting caught up in it. We can easily communicate without lending our agreement to a reality that does not serve us. Furthermore, we can choose the reality we want to live in and consciously manifest our lives and circumstances while being able to understand and have compassion for the other people around us.

So the question is not what reality is, but rather where, in all of reality, are we?

In loving friendship,

Gwilda Wiyaka

Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, 2006, 10:00am-5:30pm
Prerequisites: Upper World or Lower World Journey

Personalized, shamanically "worked" ceremonial tools are a necessity for any powerful reliable shamanic practice. In this two-day class we will build the two most important "tools of the trade", a drum and a rattle.

The drum will be a Native American style, hand held hoop drum. We will be using elk rawhide for the drum head and maple drum hoops. Drum beaters will also be built using deer skin and bamboo. If you desire, Gwilda will shamanically attune your drum to your personal birth cord.

The rattle head will be made of elk raw hide. Various furs and leathers will be available for decoration. There will also be an assortment of traditional objects to put inside and give your rattle its voice. We will cover in depth shamanic "working" of sacred tools, a skill that then can be applied to any other tools you care to create in the future.

All tools needed, will be provided. There will be a materials fee which covers both the drum and rattle.

MANIFESTATION: SAMHAIN

Instructor: Gwilda Wiyaka
Cost: $275.00

Prerequisites: Lower World Shamanic Journey or Upper World Shamanic Journey

True manifestation begins with destruction. This program is a seasonal gathering based upon the Celtic holiday Samhain. Traditionally, during this time, shamanic practitioners gather together to break up energies that cause disruption and misfortune and create clear space in which to manifest for the following year. This is an ancient responsibility to their tribe, embraced in some form by shaman of all cultures.

During our time together, the hidden principles of, and energy behind manifestation will be covered in depth.

The evening of the last day of the program we will perform an ancient ritual (generously brought to us by Tom Cowan's teachings) "The Battle of the Evil Fomorians". All Path Home students and graduates will be invited to join us in this ancient ceremony for and in responsibility to our people.
