Three Wishes
August 2005
by Gwilda Wiyaka

There seems to be several burning questions as we go through the shedding of the old phase we talked about last month in Letting Go.

"If I am supposed to be a co-creator, how did I manage to create this? This is not what I wanted or what I thought it would look like! Why, oh why, didn't I take the blue pill?"

I don't know about you, but I happily decided to manifest things never fully realizing what all would have to go, in order to do so. It seems that there are always things unseen by us clogging up the works. Dynamics between people's patterns for instance, or old belief systems that have to be shattered. Our substance is being drained in directions that no longer serve. No matter how attached we may be to the person or thing on the receiving end, Spirit is informing us that there is a choice to be made, the old way or what you have intended.

The rub of the matter is that by the time we see it, the choice has already been made. Dumb and happy is gone and we can no longer tolerate the old way. It then becomes time to roll up our sleeves and be about the matter of accessing and clearing our patterns that keep us attached (stuck) to the old.

When hit with unexpected challenges, ask yourself, "what have I intended that brought this up to be cleared?" In viewing it this way we stay out of victim. If we drop into the stance of "why is this happening to me?" we immediately loose our perspective. We cover our face with our hands and fail to see the signposts leading us to our manifestations.

It is also helpful to hold on to the fact that the pain we may be experiencing here is not the process but our resistance to it. In this way we can unearth our resistance, let go and move forward with a minimum amount of discomfort.

There is also something I like to refer to as the 3 wishes syndrome. Like the genie who grants three wishes but delights in including a backlash. Or the "everything I touch turns to gold" only to have a golden statue for a daughter. While extreme, these fairy tales describe what often occurs when we try to manifest our dreams without regard to the way life works.

Our personal manifestations do not happen in a vacuum, we need to manifest in cooperation with the laws of nature. Work with the seasons and currents of life itself. Be ever mindful not to interfere with another's process or violate their free will. It is the art of finding your own free will within the circle of life. This is living a magic life.

To impose your manifestation without regard to life itself or the needs and wants of others is sorcery.

That is why it is so important to know what YOU want and not attach our happiness or fulfillment to another. All we can do is choose for ourselves and do the work that comes up knowing that after the empty time, there will be new to replace what is removed that better aligns with our new intent and purpose.

Sometimes, we just can't have it all: our denials and our enlightenment, our current friends and the respect we deserve, our current life style and our health. Other times, with some reframing and a little rearranging we can. Often we never know which is which until it is a done deal.

If we allow it to do so, the fear of what we will loose or of never really getting what we want will keep us immobilized and the time is gone to take advantage of the opportunity we have manifested for ourselves. We often manifest but fail to take the proper action at the appropriate time to obtain it when it arrives.

We are on the razors edge. This has not been done for so long, no one knows what it looks like. What is our future? Who knows, we haven't created it yet. We need to plant it out there. Yet in order to harvest what we plant we need to have the courage to walk empty handed into our future to get it with nothing but our promptings to guide us.

Like a trapeze artist you need to let go of the old bar in order to grab the new one. Timing is everything! Being in the moment, in the center of our true beings not grasping or holding back in fear, moving when the spirit moves us in total radical trust.

If we do so, we may just find that we have blown through the "big top" and the sky is the limit.

See you up there.

In friendship,
Gwilda Wiyaka

Journey Questions are designed for individuals that have taken Path Home Shamanic Arts School’s Lower or Upper world Journey Class.  These classes are designed to instruct a person on the successful access use and interpretation of the shamanic trance.

Choose an issue that is up in your life or in the lives of your journey group members

Given my bottom line,

  1. What have I intended that brought this up to be cleared?
  2. What do I need to know, do, let go of, or heal (your choice) to move through with grace and ease?

You may try a journey on each choice above for greatest clarity.

Happy Trails.
