Fair Exchange
February 2007
by Gwilda Wiyaka
ThIn the laws of the universe there is the concept of fair exchange. What this
entails is that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. To interfere
with this balance creates a torque in the flow of the universe resulting in imbalances
we often times call karma. I realize I just said a mouth full.
We are brought
up believing that to give and not receive in equal measure indicates altruism
and generosity of spirit. Let's examine that belief a little deeper.
If I give, yet am unwilling or unable to receive in equal measure, according
to the equal and opposite law I am setting up a karmic debt that affects the
recipient of my "generosity." He or she in turn ends up "owing" me
whether that was my intent or not.
This puts a whole new light on charity. If
a person receives charity without providing some form of equitable (and I do
mean Equitable) reimbursement, over
time they have built up such a deficit that they can no longer pull in what they
need. They owe so much they can no longer receive. The flow is going the other
way and poverty and misfortune are the result.
"You can not break the law, you can only
break yourself against the law."
This puts us in a place of examining
our "generous" motives more
deeply. In the interest of clarity, before I gift something to someone I
run the following
test:
First and foremost, WHY? What is my real motive behind the gift?
So I can feel generous?
So they will hold me in high regard?
To control or feed off of their gratitude?
To buy off any guilt I may feel?
To feel superior to "Those less fortunate than myself"?
To show what a nice person I am?
To buy their love?
To accumulate credit to call in at a later date?
I can still remember my mother saying, "After
all I have given you the least you can do is......"
This test can be challenging. If you take it yourself, please remember that
our hidden motives are simply how we have learned to navigate the matrix
in which
we have been living. Having unconscious intent does not make us bad people.
By bringing these intents into our awareness we can more responsibly decide
proper
giving and receiving in order to best serve ourselves as well as those around
us..

Given my bottom line and that
I choose to work in alignment with the laws of nature in regards to giving
and receiving, and that I choose to only be shown what is in my best
interest to know at this time....
- Please show me what balanced giving and receiving looks
and feels like energetically
- Where, if anywhere, am I blocked from experiencing this
balance in my life? Where, if anywhere, am I already operating in this balance?
- What do I need to know, do, or heal in order to give and
receive in equal amounts?
- Is there anything more you'd like to tell or show me about
how the energetics of giving and receiving operate?
Happy Journey!
